While working on our Altered Book Projects today, students fiddled with ink pads, glued together pages, and batted around ideas about how they could demonstrate their theme statements in artistic form.  Connor stamped out words one letter at a time; Tyler thought about how to cut his maze pages; and Garrett planned how to place a casket in the middle of his book.  Ideas. Ideas. Ideas.  Great thinking and great doing begin with ideas.  There is no greater joy for a teacher than to watch this Idea Factory at work.
